FAQS
Got questions about ear wax removal or what to expect from your appointment? You’re not alone. Here are some of the most common questions we get at RadEarHub.
Is ear microsuction safe?
Yes — when performed by a trained and qualified practitioner, ear microsuction is generally very safe. However, like any procedure, there are some small risks. These may include slight discomfort during treatment, temporary dizziness, or in rare cases, minor irritation to the ear canal. We always discuss this with you beforehand and make sure you're comfortable before we begin.
Do you treat children?
We do not currently offer microsuction for anyone under the age of 18. Our service is designed for adults only. If your child needs ear care, we recommend speaking to your GP or a paediatric audiology service.
How do I know if I have a wax build-up?
Common signs include a feeling of blocked ears, reduced hearing, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), or discomfort. If you’re unsure, we offer a digital otoscopy and hearing check for £20, which is deductible if treatment is required afterwards.
Can I book a home visit?
Yes, we offer home visits . It’s the same safe, gentle service — just brought to your doorstep.
Does it hurt?
Most people find microsuction painless. You may feel a mild pulling sensation or brief noise during the procedure, but it’s usually over within a few minutes. If you feel any discomfort, we stop and check in with you.
